This week, we had the opportunity to spend time with the members of the InspireDR program in Cabarete, a group of motivated and curious teenagers eager to better understand the world around them and the opportunities available within it. Their attention and engagement was what stood out immediately.
From the very beginning of the presentation, the group showed genuine interest in the real estate market in Cabarete. They listened closely, reacted, and most importantly, asked questions. Their thoughtful, practical, and sometimes surprisingly sharp questions signaled not just curiosity, but potential.
As we walked them through how the local real estate market works—who buys here, why Cabarete attracts international investors, how prices are structured, and what roles exist behind every property—the conversation naturally evolved into something more meaningful. They began to see themselves in it.
Whether it was photography, property management, maintenance, sales, or marketing, different paths within the industry started to resonate with different individuals. You could feel the shift from “this is interesting” to “this could be for me.”
For Maria Dacheva and Pierre Dardelet, representing the L’Agence Real Estate team, this experience was particularly meaningful. Sharing knowledge is one thing but seeing young people connect the dots and begin to imagine a future for themselves within their own community — is something else entirely.
Cabarete is a small coastal town, but it operates within a global ecosystem. The real estate market here is international, dynamic, and full of opportunities. And yet, many of those opportunities remain invisible to the younger generation growing up here — unless someone takes the time to show them. That is precisely what made this initiative so rewarding.
It was about opening a window into an industry that is already shaping Cabarete — and will continue to do so. A window into the idea that building a future does not necessarily mean leaving, but rather developing the right skills to participate in what already exists locally.
